CIA-Rocketry > Local Launches > TCI Launch at Tuscola 5/21/2006
It was a windy spring day. Variable winds. Warm with a just a little haze. Visibility was good but not great.

Only Kevin and Lon were flying but most of the rest of the club showed up to watch. All rockets flew well, were recovered, and undamaged!

Chris came with a van full of rockets but we couldn't convince him to sacrifice any to the rocket gods.

CIA-Rocketry > Lon's Hawk Mountain "Raptor" on yet another G75J-M flight. This time with a PerfectFlite Alt15K/WD recording only altimeter as a payload.

The motor was a very old one left over from Gary Buck’s old business “Rocket R&D”. This generation of the motor has a reputation for spitting out nozzles. That didn’t happen on this flight!

CIA-Rocketry > Weather cocking just a little bit on this windy day.

Flight was out of sight into the haze until Kevin's eagle eye spotted the chute on the way down. Thanks Kevin!

CIA-Rocketry > Altimeter data from the Raptor flight.

Try spotting an unpainted 1" diameter rocket at 2600' on a hazy day.

CIA-Rocketry > Robert Westfall's Quest Nike Smoke on a C6-3. Fin can seperated from the body tube on ejection. Everyting tumbled down with no damage. Chris says how about putting some glue on that rocket?

This is an attractive kit that is cheap and very easy to assemble... so of course they had to discontine it!
