CIA helps the University of Illinois Aerospace Engineering department with the rocketry portion of the Illinois Aerospace Institute summer program for high school kids every year. We help them launch the boost gliders and egglofters that they build earlier in the week, and we fly a few of our own for demonstration and fun.
The IAI invites about 30 high school students to sample programs in aerospace engineering and aviation for a week each summer. During Monday evening's session, they built rockets (each carrying a fragile egg and an electronic altimeter) to fly at Friday's launch. Photo by Greg Smith
